Unmissable event during the museum's cultural season, the weekend dedicated to historical reconstruction associations invites you to meet History in the flesh. Chat with these enthusiasts in period clothing and discover in a vivid way the daily life of French, German, American or Scottish soldiers at the front, or the lives of civilians at the rear.
Visit the soldiers' bivouac and attend demonstrations of cannon firing, arms taking or even the troop review!
A playful approach to History, an ideal introduction to exploring the museum's collections.

DISCOVER OF LIVING HISTORY AT THE GREAT WAR MUSEUM:
Every year, for a week-end of April, the Great War museum of Meaux organizes a unique event: the World War I historical reenactment will be the occasion for a discovery both fun and lively of the infantrymen of 14-18. The event has been conceived as an introduction to the collections of the museum, and can be an educational family outing 30 minutes away from Paris.

AN EXCEPTIONNAL EVENT WITH GREAT WAR ENTHUSIASTS:
The week-end of World War I historical reenactment is dedicated to reenactment associations, real passionate, who will come to Meaux to pass down History in uniforms of the era. You will discover the lives of German, French, US, and Scottish soldiers in the bivouac and will be able to attend the reenactment of a battle. Canon firing show, homing pigeons throws, troops inspection, many thrilling animations. Not to be missed: the infantryman meal prepared in a mobile kitchen of the First World War!

* Aushopping Saisons de Meaux shopping center - Porte Nord (between Décathlon and Leroy Merlin) - vehicles
Sunday at 10:30 am:
* Beauval - Verrière district: Fanfare des Grognards d'Epinal
* Meaux Cathedral Square: Scottish Troupe - 51st Highland Division Memorial
- 2 p.m.-6 p.m .: Life at the bivouac
Meet more than 250 reenactors and learn more about the daily life of soldiers: gunfire demonstrations, flag raising, troop review, period forge, means of communication ...
* Carrier pigeons: Thanks to the Messager Meldois association and the military loft museum, learn more about carrier pigeons. You can even choose your pigeon to send your message. (Price: 2 €)
* Observation kites: Discover reproductions of vintage kites, in flight and on the ground. In 14-18, they were used as an observation post for enemy troops. It's up to you to test: make your model kite (Price: € 2)
* Presentation of vintage vehicles: Marne taxi, Peugeot car from 1916 ...
* Presentation of cannons, evocation of battles: Through this evocation, discover how a battle in 14-18 unfolded.

A member of the Society of Friends of the Museum takes you to discover the main points of interest of the circuit.

* Hiking :
This 13 km loop starting from the museum takes you to discover part of the circuit of the Battle of the Marne which took place on the territory and which keeps its traces.
